to opposites -
flipbook / animation
description:
Create
the flipbook:
Choose two words with opposite meanings, then
create a flipbook and a twenty second sequence
that shows a logical and interesting transition
from one word to the other. You can use up to
two colors. No photography or illustrative imagery
is allowed. Rule lines, shapes, and fragmented
letterforms are encouraged. The flipbook must
consist of no less than 16 images. These 16 images
must be arranged in order to create the illusion
of action.

Create
the animation:
This is part two of the flipbook. You will use
the ideas from your flipbook and translate your
idea to digital media. Time represents itself
differently in the digital space. You are expected
to recognize the differences and adjust your animations
accordingly in order to keep your idea from the
flipbook consistent with the digital animation.

The project must reflect an central and communicative
idea or thread. |
note:
The
repeating of the images will be important to the
recognition of these frames. Selecting a sucessful
idea while meeting the necessary physical parameters
of the assignment demonstrates the to use the
static image to transmit a motion related idea
to the viewer.
